The incident took place on Sunday, June 18 around 8:15 p.m. in Bridgeport at the John F. Kennedy Stadium located on the grounds of Central High School at 1 Lincoln Blvd.
When Bridgeport Police Department officers arrived on the scene they found the man suffering from a very large wound to the abdomen.
The victim was taken to an area hospital where he is listed in critical condition, said Capt. Kevin Gilleran with the Bridgeport Police.
"The victim was targeted and attacked with a machete by a Hispanic male who remains at large," Gilleran said. "The victim is familiar with his attacker."
The Detective Bureau has responded and taken charge of the investigation.
